Intel, recently, introduced a  new Intel i9 series and the 18-core core i9 extreme edition at Computex 2017, which was held in Taipei. The i9 series is available in variants like 10-core Core i9-7900X, 12-core Core i9-7920X, 14-core Core i9-7940X,16-core Core i9-7960X and 18-core Core i9-7890XE extreme edition. All of the Intel i9 processor series has a base clock speed of 3.3 GHz which can ramp up to 4.3GHz via Turbo Boost 2.0 and 4.5GHz via Turbo Boost Max 3.0. The Intel Core i9 Extreme Edition processor has 18 cores and 36 threads.

All Core i9 series support quad-channel DDR4-2666 RAM.  This processor has the ability to handle the most demanding workloads. All of the Intel i9 processor uses the Intel’s Turbo Boost technology which is activated when the os wants the processor to perform in the highest state.

The Intel Core i9 claims to meet the high-performance needs of the consumer as it uses two fastest cores at the higher frequency. When an extremely mega task is needed to be performed, it uses up to 18-cores. Multitasking can be easily done in the systems which have Intel’s Core i9 series processor. This processor is ideal for all the gaming as well as hardware lover.  The Intel Core i9 processor speeds the process of video editing, has immersive 4K visuals, high-speed storage as well as memory.

In India, the Core i9 Extreme Edition is expected to be priced roughly around Rs 1, 30,000 while the 10-core Core i9 will be around Rs 64,500.

While the 10-core Core i9 is all set to release in the month of June 2017, the other variants,i.e, 12,14 and 16-core would be released somewhat in the mid of August 2017. The release date of the i9 Extreme Edition is expected to be in the mid of 2018.
